Viewing the body from the perspective of it being a pressurised fascial suit with bones floating in it, rather than being held up by them.

We will explore how we can use the combination of Bandhas and Pranayama to increase / decrease internal pressure for both physical, energetic and spiritual effects.

Exploring the locations of the three main bandhas, the physical anatomy of these areas and how they affect and are in turn are affected by the breathing diaphragm.

Learning outcomes:

  • Increase your understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the diaphragm.
  • The relationship between breath and space within.
  • Develop a felt sense of the body's facial network and its physical and energetic interconnectedness within the whole body.
  • Enquiry into the dynamic skeletal system.
  • Practice and develop your relationship with MulaBandha, Uddiyana Bandha and Jalandhara Bandha.
  • Looking at the correlation between physical practice and spiritual outcome, using the physical body to manipulate energetic flow.
